On 30th of May, the renovated sports court next to the new Golovec Unit hosted the charity sports and music event “Stronger Together”, with the traditional charity basketball game as its central highlight.
The event was organized by Andrej Sladič in cooperation with a team of colleagues, friends, and supporters, and in partnership with Kindergarden Galjevica. More than 100 individuals contributed to the successful execution of the event, including donors, volunteers, athletes, performers, and visitors.
The diverse program offered something for all generations: sports activities for the youngest children, a treasure hunt on Golovec Hill for older participants, a charity basketball game of legends, a sports jersey auction, a lucky draw, children’s performances from the kindergarten, as well as musical and dance performances. Sunny weather and a warm, vibrant atmosphere brought together many families, friends, and supporters of the event.
The most important outcome of the day was its charitable impact. Through donations, the lucky draw, the jersey auction, food sales, and other contributions, at least €10,384.50 was raised. The funds will be used to subsidize summer camps, winter camps, and nature-based programs for children of Vrtec Galjevica who need financial support.
This year also marked the 13th edition of the charity basketball game in support of the kindergarten’s children. The initiator and driving force of the project, Andrej Sladič, has for many years, through his dedication and perseverance, connected people with a shared mission of helping children. Over the past thirteen years, the project has supported more than 480 children in participating in these enriching programs.
The organizers extend their sincere gratitude to all participants, donors, athletes, volunteers, employees of Vrtec Galjevica, and visitors whose presence and support made the event possible.
Once again, the event proved that with goodwill, cooperation, and a shared purpose, great things can be achieved. Stronger together – we are building a better future for children.
