Salone del Mobile in Milan took place from April 21 to 26, 2026, and is considered one of the world’s most important events in the field of furniture and interior design. As visitors, we attended the fair with the aim of following current trends, exploring materials, and gaining direct insight into the future direction of the industry.
This year, a clear shift toward calmer, more natural design was evident:
• warm, earthy tones and natural color palettes
• an emphasis on materiality (wood, matte, and textured surfaces)
• sustainable materials as a standard rather than a trend
• softer, rounded shapes and a more “soft” minimalism
• the integration of design and technology in material development
Beyond the trends themselves, the visit was primarily an opportunity to gain direct insight into how ideas presented in exhibition spaces are translated into practice and real industrial applications.
